James Wright to Isabella Gardner, August 6, 1966. Wright updates Gardner on his travels and asks her to forgive him for not writing sooner. He is anxious to see his sons, who have been delayed in visiting him because of an airline strike. He is preparing to teach classes at Hunter. Wright has agreed to be a part of an anthology with Lucien Stryk. He mentions seeing Paul Carroll and his wife Inara in Chicago. He has not been in touch with Allen Tate and Wright feels bad about both Gardner and Tate's personal problems. He promises not to show her letters to anyone to protect her privacy. He looks forward to seeing her again.
