Description
James Wright to Isabella Gardner, December 12, 1965. Wright tells Gardner that he tried to call her when he received her letter. He says that the letter was delayed getting to him. Wright tells Gardner that he had not been able to visit his parents for a while until now . He will probably go to New York, then on to England. He lets Gardner know that he is thinking of her and if she needs anything from him, he asks that she contact him via his parent's address or by the phone number that he has provided. Wright knows that this is a distressing time for Gardner and while he wants to ask prying questions--he will just wait for her to divulge whatever details she wants. He enclosed copies of 3 poems and asks that she send him a copy of her book.
