Description
Robert Lowell to Isabella Gardner, February 12, 1958. Lowell tells Gardner that the valentine card she sent him was a lovely card. He says that his illness has brought him closer to her family--including her Father and others. He writes to Gardner to say that his stay in McLean's psychiatric hospital is not very serious. He has been suffering from manic upsets for a decade and is trying to get rid of them. He has writing materials, and he has regular visitors in the hospital. Lowell informs Gardner that he and his wife, Lizzie, are divorcing. He says that it is a mutual decision. He tells her that he hopes to see her in the following month.
