Post card from James Wright to Isabella Gardner, January 1973. Wright and his wife, Annie, stopped by to view the Madonna painting--which is pictured on the front of the post card. He says that while they were looking at the painting, a small black dog and a little goat came close as if they wanted to view the painting, also. Wright updates Gardner on his travel plans to leave Italy on December 8th and travel to Paris. He hopes that Gardner is settled into her house.
